out with the old, in with the new

today i said good-bye to my 06 races. some were easy to take down due to injury or poor performance. others i hated to see go like Rocky, Avalon and Squaw Peak; all successful races for me. as i make way for a new year, it is also time for a brand new attitude!

DON'T LOOK AT CHANGE AS AN OBSTACLE; LOOK AT IT AS FUEL. THE NEXT GREAT RUN LIES ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CHANGE!

like it? i do too. this came from a starbucks cup. i changed it a bit to suit me.

today i went to pilates. after some errands, i ran 5 miles and finished up with a short workout session. as i have been working on my eating, i have been noticing some changes. for instance, walking into my son Tuckers room, he had some m&m's sitting there. normally i would have nabbed them in a heartbeat. instead, i had no interest. i have had more energy and my binges have subsided. today i will be getting two helpings of vegetables in me. i have been buying organic food and i hardly am even missing my cake mix.

since starting pilates i am becoming more flexible. i can now touch my ankles. (no laughing) i tend to be very tight and i have noticed my stride opening up as i run. my runs have been feeling better and i can tell that i am getting stronger. pilates rocks!

today has been a good day!
