i am back from my trip up north and a really wet and fun 50 mile run at American River this past Saturday. you can look for my race report and pictures soon. finish time was something like 12:40. with a smile!
as i was running this race, i was wondering (i wonder this at all my races) what does it take to get to the finish line. when i think of a race, i think of fast runners who are built along similar lines. but that is not the case at all. runners come in every size that you can imagine. there are those who are very light and super fast to those who are big and strong and can keep moving. and then there are some who just look broken and even some who look out of shape. some who look out of shape actually finish well. some who look very fit and strong are in the back. it's a mystery to me!
also on my trip i got a tour of Forrest Hill and Michigan Bluff both of which i will be passing through while running Western States. i can't believe i am actually going to do this....

So, I don't get it, did you answer the question? If so, by how much does it matter?
it's all just an observation. LC
