my son tucker had been sick this past week. when i woke up on saturday morning with a sore throat, i knew that i had it too. i was still going to run though. and i did, sore throat and all. the hardest part of the run for me was the relentless down hill. usually that would be my strong point and would have allowed me to catch some runners who might have been hurting. but that was not the case, since i was hurting right along with them.
i would run until it hurt too much to continue and then i would walk for a bit. that didn't feel any better so i would start running again. the first two 50 mile runners came in just as i was finishing up. wow, that is smokin!
big high fives to my friends, michelle for winning the 50K and andy, gabor, linda and hwaja for finishing the 50 miles. you guys rock! and george, thank you for keeping me safe from those big bad motorcycles! and your gay disco hawaiian dancing was funny! you are the best pacer/tire changer a girl could have!
it was great to see fred and david overstreet who were there to volunteer. jeff who ended up volunteering, kile for marking the course and robert for being a fan for all of us! jessica did a great job! you can catch some pictures here. http://www.turborunz.com/twinpeaks50.html
i am feeling good today and even did on hour of pilates this morning.
