i set out early on Saturday with george. the san gabriel mountains were gorgeous! andy and his group were on the other side of the mountains but i thought that we would be able to run into gabor doing trail work. it would help if i would have picked the right trail. in these mountains, all trails do not lead to the same place. boy was that the truth. good thing we had a map. i thought i sorta knew where to go... we had a nice 6 hour and 14 minute excursion. running became a problem on account of the tantrums i was intermittently having... complete with a broken water bottle. if i learned one thing yesterday it was that i will never run with a waist pack again. at least a waist pack that was designed by a man!
as you can see from the picture, it looks like a fresh specimen from gabor. i have heard that he has become quite handy with the chainsaw now that he has gotten his licence to carry... ooooh, do i hear "movie".
saw snow. drew blood. froze. i was so sorry to have missed andy and gang and of course the HUNGY chainsaw guy! thanks for the ribbon andy!

As I sit under the cloudy skies and the flatlands of Delaware I envy your run through the San Gabriels today. The tone of your message indicates that you are feeling confident and enthusiastic. Maintain your positive outlook and have fun. It will make your trip toward Western so much more fun.
