i had a great run in the cold yesterday morning. i was yearning get up high and see the mountains. the perfect place for me to do this is at the plateau. i can see all three peaks from there. Mt. Baldy to my left, Big Bear ahead of me and Mt. San Jacinto to my right i have re-named them though... yesterday they went like this ~
on my right was the Mount of Reflections letting me think back to all my wonderful journeys. all the training that i have done on these gorgeous trails. training for my marathons where anything under an 8:40 pace just would not do until today where i have adopted the mantra of my friend Gary Hilliard. he always told me to "just make it to the next tree." or the words of John Bozung, he say's "walk the ups, jog the flats and run the downs." and so that is how i run now.
ahead of me is Mt. Perseverance. this reminds me of my goals of today. whether in running or in my life, this mountain reminds me to give it my best.
to my left lies The Mountain of Possibility's. a possibility is nothing more then an idea until you put it into play. this mountain tells me that my possibilities are endless. it is all up to me.
so, i finished my run feeling joyfull and invigorated. i ran, i sang and it was just me, the coyotes and my three beautiful mountains... all dressed up in white.
