The longest MDS ever


this is for "M" who lives in the Big Apple and is friends with a crazy Canadian Dr who went missing about a month ago. Bill, are you still going?

"M", did you know that you can bring ice cream to MDS? i did try this, it was crazy. kind of like hard Styrofoam that tasted just like ice cream. it has i think 150 calories and is very light. this week i will be zeroing in in my food.


The Longest Course of the MDS

The course 2008 will take a long time of the history of the MARATHON OF SANDS with 245,3 km to be traversed.
The difficulties will begin as of the 1st day and will be connected to offer all the alternatives of the Sahara. It will be necessary to cross ergs (fields of dunes), jebels with the frightening slopes (up to 25% of uneven), it will be necessary to run on stony plates, hard lakes drained like concrete or in wadis where only sand runs. The whole in an exceptional decoration of beauty with panoramas which one can reach only foot. The desert has its secret gardens and the competitors of the MDS have the chance to contemplate them in reward of their efforts.


Created in 1986, the Marathon of Sands joined together, of 22 editions, nearly 10 000 competitors in the Moroccan Southern Sahara.
Individual test or by team, in food self-sufficiency, each competitor must carry its equipment (food and obligatory material) throughout all race.
This test is regarded as the "Graal" of the races to foot by the marathonians and amateurs of trail of the whole world. It is one of most difficult in the world, at a distance of approximately of 230 km, in free pace, on 6 stages from 20 to 70 km borrowing all kinds of grounds which the legendary beauty of the South Morocco proposes.
With a minimal of 3 Km/h and maximum mean velocity of 14 Km/h, the MARATHON OF SANDS is a race out of the commun run by the spirit of user-friendliness and solidarity which characterizes it.
For this 23e edition, organized by AOI under the aegis of the Ministry for Moroccan Tourism, nearly 850 candidates will spring on next 30 March with the conquest of Marocain sands. 30% of the participants are French, the 70% remainder represent more than 32 nationalities with a strong Anglo-Saxon presence

How many "MDS" calories in that there Fake ice cream? Any almonds in that?
