Osprey Talon 33 backpack which i started training with last night.

then came my new western mountaineering sleeping bag. this thing weighs less then a pound and stuffs down to the size of a football.
i was so excited that i filled my new pack and pulled my tire down to the gym, took a class, sat in the sauna for some heat training and came back home. all in time for American Idol. yes my friends, it's that time again and i will be making my predictions again this season. oops, i'll be in Morocco. Brad, will you TiVo it for me?

It looks like you've got some cool new toys. Have fun!
AWESOME!!!! sounds like a great workout too :)
I love the sleeping bag. I love getting things in the mail, i am an internet shopper. UPS and USPS hate me at work, cause i am always getting big packages :)
Sweet Items ... I want I want both of them, well when I am ready to do MDS in a few years :-) many years--lol
Happy Training!!
I Love my western mountianeering sleeping bag. I have the 20 degree and used it on the PCT. When I ran MDS in 2002 I carried a 35 degree and froze my ass off. My pack weighed 23 pounds and I didn't train with it. It sure sucked but I finished I think in 40 hours and 19th woman. I was so proud of myself for geeting through it. I learned a lot. I know am the queen of light weight fastpacking ;) although the first 750 miles through the desert of the PCT with a 30 pound pack sucked. It was because I had to carry 7 littlers of water a day.
You are going to love the race. I plan to do it again in a couple years.
Love ya,
Catra
we'll have to talk packs, catra. i have some adjusting to do and i am worried about being cold at night. i am worried about a lot of things but very excited. i plan on going back too. hope to see you when you are in town!
Hi Leigh-
Looking forward to seeing you. You will do so well at MDS. I didn't train and had no plan but to just move forward.
You are smart because you are training for it.
I know I could do 100 times better when I decided to do it again. After carry a pack for 99 days last year I think 7 days would be easy..LOL...
Once again I will be on the PCT but this time I want to finish the whole thing in under 91 days ;)
See ya soon.
XOXO,
Catra
P.S send me positive vibes this weekend I'm running RR 100
