on monday my kids went back to school, so i Bagged Baldy to celebrate. Mt. Baldy rises to the elevation of 10,064 ft. i started with my friend George at the Visitor Center and we climbed 6.4 miles with a gain of 5,802 ft. i was definitely feeling it and man was i hungry! i did a lot of sitting down and resting.
when we crossed the narrows, i thought that was the scary part, wow, the return trip was not only more beautiful but far more treacherous too. and longer. i even asked Geroge if people die up here.

on the way up we heard a helicopter. George was trying to point it out to me but i was looking up. the helicopter was below us in the canyon, that was a trip! on the return we saw another helicopter up close and personal, real up close and personal. so cool!! he made a second pass to make sure we were ok. of course i was all smiles as we made our way down the mountain.

did not see any impressive animals, just lots of squirrels but it was great training for GTR. did i mention that i had to sit down a lot? not too much running but lots of altitude and a long time on my feet. ok, and some sitting! must have been something in the air. i just got back from a run and man am i feeling it. oooooooh, ouch! Happy Wednesday!
